***The family's financial position is not a consideration when reviewing a wish request.
We only accept referrals from the following sources:
- Medical professionals treating the child, such as doctors, nurses, social worker or child life-specialist
- The child's parent(s) or legal guardian(s)
- The potential wish child
The child's physician will determine medical eligibility, based on our medical crietia set forth by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. The physician must sign paperwork stating a child is medically eligible, before the wish process can continue.
About Wish Referral Privacy
The Make-A-Wish Foundation respects the privacy of the children and families it serves. All medical information is considered confidential and is not discussed with outside parties unless it is required for the wish and the child's parent(s) or guardian(s) have given their consent.
