Winecoff Elementary had a goal - to raise $5,500, the average cost of one wish, so that their school could grant the wish of a child. The true spirit of giving took over at Winecoff Elementary and its extended family. Students, parents, grandparents, local business and individuals near and far contributed to their fundraiser raising over $8,500.
Allowances, ice cream money, Tooth Fairy money and entire piggy banks were given by students to help meet this goal in addition to the daily sales of Make-A-Wish wristbands and stars to meet their goal. Teachers and their families opened their hearts and checks arrived to help make a wish come true.
Today, a wish will be granted, a dream will come true and the Winecoff family truly made a difference. The Winecoff students and staff celebrated the realization that a difference in a child’s life will become a reality by spelling out the word “Hope.”
